GDA should take over the entire ODP organization... they could keep the same basic structure, it would just be directly overseen by GDA/USSF... it would pool the best girls that are playing GDA, would possibly encourage some of the last ECNL holdouts to move to a GDA club, would truly pool the elite talent to train together on a state/regional level, and create a direct pipieline to national team...

Some of the best girls don't play ODP or DA. DA is only the pay to play answer. Not the best solution for the most talented kids.

Why would you want one organization in charge of everything? Even if ODP is, in your opinion, inferior to the GDA program, you do not want USSF controlling the entire system. Never give any one person full control of anything. Without ODP, you will see a much smaller number of opportunities, especially for players that are not located near a GDA club.

Been involved with ODP and ECNL for a while now and my D has been to Regional 3 years running. It has it good points but have also seen a lot of political BS too. Club coaches are too involved in the process and the ODP coaches don't always make the decisions they should because of it. Seem like players get way more exposure at the ECNL Showcases than ODP.

Before GDA USSF already had there own version of ODP - US Soccer Training Centers (Also called Market Centers).
ODP is Actually a classification of program with the classification granted by USSF. Different organizations have ODP programs:
US Youth Soccer - What most people call ODP
US Club Soccer - ID2 and PDP
ECNL (Part of US Club Soccer) - ID2 (ECNL has its own ID2 seperate from USClub)
Super Y - ODP (different from US Youth Soccer but only referred to by Super Y as ODP)
When US soccer training Centers first came out, USSF put an emphasis on regional, non Club coaches running the US Soccer training centers. Unfortunately From my viewpoint, this stopped happening and now more US Soccer training centers are being run by club coaches, resulting in the same pitfalls as all of these other programs.
GDA "Scouting" so far seems to be done by non club affiliated coaches.
