Our club has playups in its DA program and throughout our competitive program . . . just find it strange how preachy Washington Timbers get about it.

There are compelling reasons to have players playup; there are also times that the push for playup come from parents and sometimes they need to be told no.

For those of you that posted above trying to figure out if ages are combined.

Your club should always be combining teams. Your teams at your club should be based on ability not by age. If you're at a club that doesn't do that then you should run because your club is failing you.

For me to hear on this site whether or not the age groups will be combined is dumb. Teams should be built by ability.

The DA at the Washington Timbers has two '06's and two '05's.
Many leagues/competitions limit play-ups to one or two years.

Appears to be the same teams that did the U12 DA this year.

You are behind the times. It used to be Bridlemile. Then it was BSC. Now it is BS.

Next year they will drop the S and just be B.

After that they will adopt a symbol. Maybe a half deflated soccer ball.

Why do they show Westside Timbers as Washington? So I wonder at U15 when the pyramid of DA narrows who will be cut. The clubs pay for and cultivate the kids for three years and then 4 of 6 will lose them all to... Timbers at U15? They will be producing clones.

Quite a few Washington clubs *also* got U-13 DA. Oregon clubs only got U-14? So our clubs will have to combine 2004 and 2005 into U-14 DA. But Washington clubs will get stand alone DA for 2005 (U-13) and 2004 (U-14)? Seems like the Oregon 2005's are getting lost in this birth year/DA shuffle a bit?
