Yeah, he's got the premed kid at Duke with another year or two left before she heads to PSG on a multi-million dollar contract.

          Get some new material man
Actually it’s you coaches who should get some new material. If you been following the traditional logic on this site there are tons of families who have zero interest in their kids chasing D1 scholarships opting instead for an academically prominent D3. Ok so if the D3 coaches aren’t gearing up until in the Jr year why does it make sense for that family to go full steam ahead with far flung trips to showcases any time before those coaches are starting to think about that recruiting class. Doesn’t make sense.

Read here that kid is on the Dean’s List at Duke and was Academic All ACC last fall. You may like to troll the family but if that is true then the kid is producing and none of your BS actually makes any sense.

Except, BTNT, you keep crowing about a guaranteed med school admissions slot as a verifiable component of a scholarship deal. That's what makes no sense and yet you persist.

Whatever, BTNT. Some are interested in D1, some are interested but change their minds or realize they fit better at D3, and some weren't looking for more than a top D3 anyway. Many of those seeking D3 still want to play at the highest youth levels they can so that they can have aas good of a D3 soccer career/experience as possible.

We visited many college campuses between sophomore and junior year. Daughter would meet with the coach. Very useful. they seemed to have time available for her. We sent out lots of preliminary contact info during spring season sophomore year.

We did the same. It needs to start early and coaches begin watches early (sophomore year even for D3) although commitments can't be made until after pre-reads. There are also the basic logistical issues to consider. It's just not possible to visit all the schools on the list if you wait until junior year to start the process, given that school visits are much better made during the school year (and ideally during soccer season to watch games). Especially for those who are targeting the higher level academic schools, taking that much time off school to do college visits is problematic.
