But no...Ecnl would rather lose 12-15 players every year at prime recruiting years. At every ecnl club across the nation.
Not sure if you really understand the rules and how things work.

USYS and US Clubs Soccer fall under the US Soccer Federation.

ECNL falls under US Club Soccer.

The age group change was mandated by the US Soccer Federation.

Not sure what you mean by ECNL would rather lose 12-15 player every year at prime recruiting years.

All teams lose players in the last year regardless of how they do age groups. The reality is a lot of girls that will not play college soccer quit club soccer their senior year.

Why did they think that making a B league for those players was a better idea than forming teams by grade but within the birth year groupings? Easy to simply have girls play with their grade. The way they are doing it is two mixed teams of 01s+02s - one an A team and one a B team. Instead, they could have had two A teams - one A team of juniors and one A team of seniors. Everyone could’ve been happy.

Heard this in now basically RCL, as the composite teams will be playing in RCL and not a new league for this year. Entire ECNL teams were sent down to become these "A" teams, especially if the 01 team was filled with late birth year players, or players playing up.

A few clubs seemingly still have RCL A teams which would make them now "C" teams. Other clubs just made their A team the composite team (Eastside and Seattle United)

This may seemingly be the norm next year with composite teams going down to U15. Perhaps a new league will be formed at that time.

              ECNL composite

There is a lot of misinformation surrounding the cost of ECNL and the composite teams. Except for clubs that cover players costs, the extra cost is related to travel to the National events and out of state matches, not club dues. It is expensive but not all the families are loaded as some suggest. They simply funnel there money into their kids soccer rather than other stuff. As for composite teams, what has been told to the families at WP is there will be a league of composite teams made up of the four local teams and the two in Portland. There maybe one national event and there will be a playoff. The opportunity for a national event won’t be clear till July or August. As for the structure of the teams, the 01/00 team this year had a lot of late 01 birth years and some 02’s who were playing up. The 02 team had a number of sophomores. The addition of the composite team has allowed people who have been part of ECNL not be pushed out because there were only so many spots on the main team. Also the comp team will be going to a number a least one additional showcase tournament for kids who have not been recruited. Will there is a talent difference between the two teams my guess is that many of the composite teams would beat most if not all of the teams left in RCL D1.

Renewed rumors today that Boys ECNL clubs will field 2 teams competing in ECNL, removing those teams from the RCL. WPFC and Crossfire mentioned. Anyone heard anything that can be confirmed?

Doesn’t this make the composite team the secondary team if you didn’t make the U19 team? Then would the current 02 rising juniors on the composite team jump to the U19 team next season with the other rising 03 juniors?

If this is true that Crossfire is getting two teams per age group,
then we will have 6 ECNL teams and 1 DA in our "elite" area.
Heh, this is such a joke.

It's certainly going to make RCL even less enticing to players that really want to make a push to play at a decent school. Not that they can't do it there, but, RCL's quality has continued to go down with the increased ECNL and DA teams as players jump for the "bigger" stage. With the expansions I assume the RCL is going to plummet further. The speed of play and quality of play is just plain better at ECNL and DA. I think we all agree on that. As it should be, I suppose...… Just a matter of how watered down the ECNL becomes, I guess.

Over 50% of last years RCL D1 teams will disappear due to the new clubs being placed in ECNL. If they are going to make ECNL 2 teams then this will remove a further 50% from RCL D2/3. If you are one of the clubs not in the ECNL why would you remain within WYS? Why would you remain beholden to the clubs that continue to feed themselves? If you are a parent or a board member at any club not given an ECNL participation medal and chocolate milk, why aren't you asking questions of your directors about what the future holds? Where is the quality going to be?

All games are fun games, they don't have to be World Cup quality, but by the same token no one likes a big disparity in skills or performance in the same league. If they move ahead with 2 teams in ECNL not playing RCL then youth soccer in this State through the State Associations is on life support.

I would not surprise me one bit to see Terrible Terry announce RCL is going to be open to all participants regardless of their affiliations.

Have that Southlake team play other RCL teams and I guarantee that wont be the same result. Can’t judge the quality of a league based off of one team. If Southlake and other clubs continuously replicate those results against RCL teams then this conversation could come up. But for now PSPL will still be the weaker league.

I'm not an RCL cheerleader, but saying that the PSPL is stronger because of one "friendly" ... ?!

Yep. Win a friendly against an RCL club B team and you've proven your league is better.

Win Copa at the Rainier Challenge or Super at the Crossfire Challenge and then maybe we'll be impressed. Didn't play at Rainier, not on list of teams entered at Crossfire.
