The main drawback to the Thorns is that they don’t allow all girls to play soccer for their high school. The cost is not really a concern. I heard they let girls play for high school last year on Jesuit. If you want more kids to come out that might be a start.

They (Thorns) have hundreds of girls tryout each year for maybe 1 to 5 open spots on each of their 4 DA teams.

How much revenue do you want them to get for a token tryout to the masses especially when your chances are better at the winning mega-millions lottery than making a DA squad. re: 'more come out' statement

Thorns subsidize it, just like the boys Timbers DA: they (Thorns) have the best 50 to 60 girls in Oregon and SW Washington already in their program. Not a single girls who is in the top 10 players in the DA age groups is not 'coming out' because it means they would miss an 8 Week HS Rec season.

DA is rolling and they aint looking back.

      This is called reality.

They got some good players but also some B team bench players. Pretty average overall.

Stronger players, stronger teams and much stronger league.

Very important to remember. They are all just kids trying to get by.

2016 and prior you have a point, even an argument. We are approaching 2019, this poor US Club league offering has has endured the DA club rapture (2017) and in a Christian fashion (business) kept the league doors open for those departed clubs 'B' teams to fill the massive void left in their wake. Look no further than the sisters of the poor neighborhood clubs in the pre-DA era of this league (FC & CU) they were lucky not to give up 100 goals in as season and score 10 to 15.

Fast forward to today and some of their teams even win more games than they lose in this post DA iteration.

"If I could turn back time..."

Fortunately they have an intern on here trying to sell the program.

Top DA club left this year and went back to ECNL.

This is the funniest thing I've read in a long, long time. It's like winning the mega-millions. Bwahahaha!

They are high school girls. Why not let them play high school sports?

Both the ECNL and the DA is the deep end of the pool (and should not be advised) for 95% of Oregon girls soccer players. Continuing to fight with one another over which is better is laughable. Both are way above your DDs talent level so it's a completely irrelevant argument.

It might help some I guess.

And just nicer people and families too (ECNL).

That’s weird because thorns have been terrible and they have quite a few B team players from OYSA teams.

That’s weird because Ecnl literally was gutted 75% of the best players left Last year...doesn’t help when the Ecnl teams in Oregon are terrible as well.

The Thorns Academy have not been terrible. They have won a combined 6 out of 36 games played. That is a .16 winning percentage.

                                Care to retract your statement?
