[QUOTE=Unregistered;2508358]What roster sizes do these clubs carry? Hard to think paying $4000 a year for SUSA is good value with 25 kids on roster.

ECNL allows up to 30 players on roster but can only dress 18 to play. All players must also go to all games. Some payers get only 10-12 minutes playing time. Travel time is 3-5 hours and play only one game on sat-sun. Cost can be between $800 -$2000 per weekend. Playing DA is about the same cost. Remember it is a business. The choice is yours.

Yes and the worst part is that the low level teams which by the way are the majority pay the same as the ECNL and EDP teams. I guess someone has to paid for the fields that are still a year or two away from being completed.

Yes! Crazy what they charge. Almost as much as Fury.

            SUSA vs Barca Prices

SUSA's prices rose substantially this coming year. I know of at least 4 kids on my daughters team that aren't coming back due to the price increase according to their parents. $2800 + Uniform to play in NYCSL and lose to town teams that charge $400 is crazy. Another website says the increase is due to higher cost of tournaments. That's baloney. Lower level teams don't play many tournaments and they aren't even announced until a couple weeks before the tournament. Trust me they haven't mapped out the tournaments for lower level teams already and factored it into the cost. If your not EDP or maybe NPL then your are paying an even steeper cost to get beat by better, cheaper town teams and clubs.

They have lost quite a few players since the massive expansion. Less players = less income = higher prices to cover all of the facilities they have purchased and are building the last few years. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribe money that they have spent.

My daughter’s friend is leaving her team at Susa. They got their training fees paid for (absorbed by the rest of the team?) for one year, but that has come to an end, and they just can’t swing the fees plus all the travel etc. it’s a shame, she’s a good player, just unlucky enough to have working class parents who don’t have tons of disposable income.

She will be ok. No kid is fundamentally deprived because they can't play fancy soccer at SUSA or another deluxe soccer club. For all the abuse they get, school ball and town club ball are critical to most kids that want to learn and play a sport like soccer.

Most players could never afford places like Susa or Barca just like most families can't afford a Mercedes Benz. But life goes on just fine.

Assuming referring to the fields in CI

They have invested a lot of money so far in the CI complex. It doesn't look like much yet, mostly just leveled ground with some drainage installed, but millions have been spent acquiring the land, designing the facility and now the actual construction.

Yes, it's been going on for about 10 months or more. It looks like a very large project

Absolutely. There are tax funded, community funded facilities in every district for the children of that community and there is nothing wrong with making good use of them and participating in the opportunities available to the students of the community. Is the entire point of trying to have quality school systems.
