    Soccer email scam?

Has anyone heard about coaches getting an email from a “parent” looking for a price for training a group of players and wanting to know if the coach takes credit cards?

It has to be some kind of scam, but what?

Looked up email credit card scams, it will probably go like this.

They will want to make a large payment in advance for a season of “training” with a stolen credit card. Then say they changed their mind, ask the victim to refund their money by wire transfer and also offer that the victim keep some of the money for the trouble. The card will be discovered as stolen and the victim will be back charged.

Yes, who is the person asking for training? This needs to stop!

If it’s an email out of the blue. They don’t know your name. They don’t have any reference. They don’t list a phone number. The email address doesn’t match the name. They discuss payment by credit card. The grammar is bad. It’s all signs of a scam.
