Not to be insensitive because it's clearly a sad story but it is notable that the teacher was in her 60's, had multiple health issues, and that she apparently contracted covid teaching an on-line class with 2 other teachers.

Yeah, the thing is that there are thousands and thousands of teachers 50 and over and 60 and over, and many with some kind of underlying condition. There's a reason why health insurance is kind of important for everyone.

More than half of people over 50 have underlying conditions in addition to the basic underlying condition of being older and thus having a weaker immune system. Without Covid19, most of them would live long fruitful lives despite those underlying conditions.

According to the CDC website for the week of April 11, 4,250 people between the ages of 45-54 died, 848 of them were from COVID. That same week, 10,058 people between the ages of 55-64 died, 2,166 were from COVID.
