Clubs are desperate. They’ll try to sell you on trainings and fitness programs with an occasional in state scrimmage for the same money.

Your club will string you along with practices and collect all your payments.

Already starting that - this month in fact.

            Greed and Stupidity, huh.
Sounds like ahole-in-chief second term agenda...oh wait, that’s right, he doesn’t have one.

              Land ain’t cheap, anywhere.
A club should have nowhere near that kind of money, though rates are attractively low.

Even if a club had that money in the bank I wouldn't be be sinking anything into fields right now. There's just too much uncertainty on when things might resume - and if it resumes there's a risk it gets shut down again. Unlikely a bank will give a substantial loan now either. Land acquisition is only part of the price tag too. Ideally you want at least one turf field so you can use almost all year round. Big $$$$. Even grass field installation isn't cheap and a new field shouldn't be used immediately. Grass has a lot of maintenance costs also.

Clubs might get lucky if a sports facility goes belly up that they can buy on the cheap. But do you want to be in the business of managing a facility?

The day is coming where clubs are not going to be taking near the hours that they do now at facilities. As a matter of fact, after last spring and what is most likely shaping up for this fall, expect clubs to start backing out of hours at indoor facilities. If you think Stars pushes the limits now running winter trainings, wait until this year. You will see the same with NEFC.

Rumor has it Stars is looking to do just that up in Lancaster. Why keep shelling out money to Teamworks? Grant it they already run their Acton complex.

Stars bought the indoor facility at AUC last winter before covid19.
