League Alignments - EDP vs CCSL

Connecticut is still somewhat divided when it comes to state leagues. When everyone left CJSA there was an opportunity for CCSL to capitalize. They did, however, they lost the opportunity by taking everyone. EDP then got into the CT game with a partnership with CJSA. All teams in CT EDP now go through USYS thanks to that partnership. CCSL shards through US Club which is significantly more expensive. Hopefully families see that savings. It now looks like EDP is offering a Regional League in New England. This means no more trips to NY and NJ. If the strongest clubs in CT come together you are looking at one of the best leagues in the Northeast. A couple of teams in RI along with 1-2 Western MA teams. Who are the best clubs in CT to take advantage of this? (No ECNL OR DA teams allowed).

I think Ginga has to be considered one of the strongest clubs in CT after you exclude ECNL and DA. Would also add that CFC Boys ECNL is not that strong.

      Ccsl is a dead end.

CCSL is mostly town based programs. It’s what the old CJSA became. EDP is simply a massive organization. Most of the strong clubs are moving into EDP which has the pathways to national showcase events and leagues. I agree that Ginga is a very good club and I would also add the CFC - NPL program. Most people forget that they have a secondary program outside of ECNL and it’s a very good club for boys and girls.

I think that Southeast SC and Northeast SC are good clubs in corners of the state. Southeast plays in CCSL against a bunch of town programs. Not sure why. Not sure where Northeast plays, maybe CCSL also? MA league?

            Edp

Ginga rush and sporting already play in the edp regional
Conference. It is on par Or better then the mass npl. The edp states have been taking teams away from ccsl for the last couple years. Ccsl is mostly town premier now.

Edp conference has Probably grown into the best place to play after da and Ecnl.

The boys program at the CFC branches isnt the greatest but Valley and North do well.

Northeast was registered in the EDP this year.

If you're in the top brackets - otherwise it's not that great and you may as well do less traveling with CCSL

Definitely do not agree. If you are not in the top league then play in the EDP State League. All games in CT, still streaks ahead of CCSL.

Valley??? Are you kidding me? Valley is better the CFC City and MAYBE CFC Sound. Outside of those two terrible branches Valley is better than any other branch. They are terrible!

Are branches allowed to use fields at CFC park or are they just for United teams

No, branches are only in place to help fund United teams. They are a money feeder mainly and barely a player feeder to the United team. They definitely are not allowed to use the fields, they are told “ all fields are booked”. With no lights on the fields that may be true as usage time is limited with lack of lights
