So are you suggesting that parents tell the clubs which tournaments to attend each year? How does that work? In our club, the club's leadership decide which to attend.

Sheep. If families really don't want to go to an event they should make their feelings known. One we were with at U12 wanted us to go to a far away event that was going to require two days of missed school. For 11 year olds? Enough families told the club no and they dropped it. Some clubs won't tell you what events they will do when you sign up, then you find out they're crap. Better clubs know and tell you, then you can decide if that's a club you want to join.

Problem with these events is that unless you are an ECNL team you need to have some history to get accepted.

I don't think U13s need to trek to Virginia to play in a tournament with 30 or 35 minute halves however some have to establish themselves in order to get accepted when it actually matters around U15.

Oakwood is now in bad league playing bad teams. They'll need to go to Jeff Cup early to position themselves for when the kids get older.

Generally speaking the girls weekend is a waste of time and money but might be necessary for some to have consideration for the showcase weekend at U15 and up.

That is correct. CJSA is not allowing any travel so all USYS clubs are not able to go. CFC may still attend as they are US Club.
