    Tournament Brackets/ Lopsided

How are teams assigned to brackets in tournaments?
I’m seeing some really lopsided games in local tournaments this weekend.
Teams ranked in top ten, playing teams ranked in the 40s/50s?????
What is this and who benefits from this? Much rather watch a truly competitive game than a blow out any day.

Watch Jefferson over next two weeks ... Same thing .... Ecnl teams spread avoid multiple brackets so that they do not play each other. Ridiculous. I hope lots of non ecnl teams beat them.

How else do you increase the odds of perceived superiority.

        Isn’t that better?

I actually find Jeff Cup to be pretty objective. Lower level ECNL
Teams end up in the mid tier brackets. Gives plenty of teams to square off with them. What don’t you like about that? No one is protected.

        Just another excuse to complain?

I think, for the most part, that events do a pretty good job placing teams. Think about trying to shuffle 400 teams in to 20-40 brackets. Jeff Cup has always been good at it for sure.

One tournament we traveled 800 miles and 2 of the 3 games were against teams we play locally. Talk about a waste.

800 Miles away? You can say that about any local tournament
