The FC Portland Winter Showcase in January always fills up and there are a decent number of College coaches as well as a lot of out if state teams.

FC PDX Showcase has been cancelled due to weather how many times in the last 10 years? It's a poor showcase held at a poor time. Every community college and bad D-3 program coach shows up. Don't waste your time or money.

Since THUSC has 3-4 college coaches on staff (PSU and Linfield)---you are probably right!! There will be coaches there. Problem is that they have already seen the talent pool, for the last several years, as they probably have coached these exact same players, at one point or another.

If you have a tournament and no one comes, except for your own teams/players, can it really be called a tournament? Can it really be called a showcase?
Seems awfully similar to their THUSC United Cup in the summer. Talk about a train wreck.
What's the old saying?? If you cannot remember past history, you will repeat that same history. This has 'hot mess' written all over it.

The only college coaches that will be there will be the ones who are on Thusc's staff.

And Thusc needs to make money, too many of their ECNL players are on scholarship.

Not from Eastside nor do I live in that area, but there are more girls on the U of O soccer team from there than there are from Portland. Heck, there are the same number from Medford as there are from Portland. I know it's fun to make fun of people who you feel are inferior to you, but at least the U of O doesn't think much of Portland.

I don't recommend any college showcase. And certainly not the farce in Tacoma. Local coaches come, and if that's your level of play, go for it.

THUSC is nothing if not self promoting. That is why there is such a militant THUSC defense squad on here.

The important thing for people to recognize however is just because they say they are elite, it doesn't make it so.
