PML was a great place for 3rd and 4th tiered teams that wanted to play local only. Sounds very similar when talking about OPL's structure. the OPL has a market, and they will make it because there are lot's of 3rd and 4th tiered teams that do not want to travel.
I'm sure OYSA looked at the PML and conceded that market to the OPL, it was a smart move.
conversely, there are 3rd and 4th Division teams that like to travel and that is where the OYSA leagues come in.
OPL and OYSA are different animals.
In truth both the OYSA and OPL teams will be lower tier going forward. Just wait until the Thorns open the 14/15 Academy team next Summer.
If that doesn't force a reunification nuuuuthing will!

I can't wait for the ALL star ENCL and Academy. So now that will be truly the best.

Take a look around, there are a number of truly lousy ECNL teams across the country and they haven't kicked them out. Maybe they can separate those teams out and combine them into their own league. CU and FCP will fit right in.
Their goal is to create a true top tier.
