They are for my 2021. Colleges are attending scrimmages and he’s getting emails and messages after scrimmages. It’s become a job to get noticed.

Bottom players weren't getting much $ anyway and probably wouldn't be surprised by those conversations, but top players would be.

Coaches are mostly done with 21s - if they haven't recruited their usual 6-8 they'll just go with the 4 they've probably already locked in, who were their top picks anyway, and move on to the 22s. The 22s aren't out of the woods because of deferrals and who knows what will happen this year with showcases etc
College coach here. Somewhat correct, however many unknows at this point and we are keeping all avenues open. Descisions will be delayed as long as possible for tier 2. One additional new factor is understandably increased pressure to even out playing spots racially.

There's what's allowed and what's the right thing to do. Taking away $ from deserving seniors would be a pretty lousy thing to do. Hopefully none have to worry about that

Wait, please tell us more about the "increased pressure to even out playing spots racially". What was being done then that is NOT being done now? Why was it being done, and who is applying pressure?

inquiring minds want to know, especially of good old Mass. The club soccer rosters are not full of black and brown skinned players.

Pressure to even out playing spots racially? Come on. Sure you are a college coach.

Clearly another troll looking to stir the political pot - because there aren't enough political threads already.

Wow, you sound pompous yourself. Actually no privilege. Whole team changing due to (+) covid results. So taking a year so that she can actually play the game she has trained to play at the college level for the last six years. Yes, privileged. (insert eye roll)

No formal quota. But yes indeed the word has come down load and clear. Previously football would cover disparities. Now racial diversity which crosses over to gender is important. Womens soccer will be impacted. Internationals will cover some of the " quota". Still working it out as tier 2 has more flexibility being that field skill is somewhat a grey area.

Half the girls on my daughter’s 02/03 (former DA, now ECNL) are still not committed but several of the 2022s are. The 2021s are screwed.

I would imagine if football revenue is down, this will effect everyones scholorship opportunities for a few years. Add in the lost revenue from gap year etc and senior 5th year scholoships.
Hard to see the second biggest revenue college basketball hapenning, but maybe. Still small potatoes to football.

So you brining in two players of color will really make a difference in the school's diversity quota? Freaking laughable. Stop trying to turn this into a political debate.

Not all schools make money off of football, but certainly every school across the board is re-evaluating how and where they spend their money. The schools in the big TV conferences that aren't playing are feeling the multi-million dollar pinch. Schools have much bigger numbers to wrestle with than cutting a few minor teams and scholarships, but everything is on the table these days. When you see a deep pocketed school like Stamford cut teams, it's not a good sign.

Increases significantly the diversity of women's athletic scholorships cohort. Not sure why people would be against this? This is not an easy achievment. Not political in the slightest, just information.

There is really no change in anything except recruiting timeline, 2021s should already have had contact with coaches interested if not they have moved along 2022s still have time .Not all schools have big football programs so they are used to it.Bigger roster sizes and no scholarship cap help those 2022s get what they want.
