Jesuit would drop 10-15 goals on the thorns academy.

Jesuit is a decent Oregon girls HS team for sure, but the sad reality is they are playing against defacto recreational HS teams every week for just over 2 months. It's seriously a joke watching a HS full of decent local club kids (Jesuit) vs the rec leftovers. Truly an inspiring season of HS Soccer. Got it.

If there were 10 other Jesuit level teams then maybe Oregon HS might be worthwhile for the elite players. Jesuit HS enjoys whooping it up on the recreational level players it's truly a sad commentary on the state of Oregon HS Girls Soccer. BTW Jesuit's top player was a Wa. XF DA standout who in her Senior year played HS to enjoy the cakewalk. DA got her a D1 Scholarships. No foolin.

Maybe Jesuit would get a competitive game once or twice in a season, if the current DA girls could play HS. Since it's all about Jesuit. Right? Twisted thoughts from clueless parents.

Maybe the level of JV and JV2 girls basketball in Oregon would get a tiny bit better if the DA girls could play HS.

Recreational HS soccer is a fun time for the girls and for nearly all this ilk the end of the road. Let them enjoy it for god sakes.

          Likely 15.

HS Soccer in Oregon really is worth it. Ask Jesuit.

DA or ECNL doesn’t get scholarships for players. Playing in the DA or ECNL is merely a vehicle for exposure to the next level. FYI she was offered a verbal while playing ECNL not the DA

Not really sure what you mean by rec leftover since most all of the players in Oregon play HS soccer on the girls side.

The Jesuit player that you are referring to committed as a Sophomore when XF was still ECNL. She played one year of DA and 3 years of HS.

DA or ECNL does not get anyone a scholarship. They are both platforms with their national showcases that give players an opportunity to play against different (out of region) teams and be evaluated by college scouts. The debate of DA or ECNL being better than the other is a moot point. OYSA clubs have their merits as well, but they just don't have the attendance of the DA or ECNL showcases. The national ECNL and DA showcases, just make it easy for college coaches to evaluate a lot of players in one weekend.

The boy's side is a different story. Top talent is playing DA.

How many college commits does Clackamas have? I heard around 10 - 11.

Moutainside has several including the best HS player in Oregon.

Your daughter who plays at mountainside isn’t top 50 in Oregon.

                    But she is probably good.

I don't have a daughter who plays at Moutainside.

It is debatable on who the best player from Oregon is, but the Moutainside player is very good and is a top player.

To say she is not top 50 in Oregon is very disingenuous.

The top colleges watch the DA. Oregon kids don't get many looks with their local neighborhood clubs. That's why playing in the DA out of state works for an elite Oregonian.

It's rare we ever have this type of talent, but when we do they go DA out of state.

If you want to go to college, out of state DA is the way to go. If you choose to stay in state ECNL or travel teams are better options.

Truth is USYS boasts the most scholarship recipients, in a landslide. DA sends the highest percentage of girls to the top 50 D1 Schools by a landslide. US Soccer platform 'ecnl' is strictly a travel and jamboree event for those club parents that can afford it. They were gutted with the DA a couple of years ago and are trying to redefine this pay to travel deal, hashtags and catch phrases only go so far. Playing in the DA turned a verbal into a signature, FYI.

Fake news. GDA sucks. Check the head to head matchups between ECNL and GDA. ECNL > GDA.

Those same college coaches are at the ECNL events. If you actually talk to the college coaches, they prefer the ECNL events. The talent pool between DA and ECNL is somewhat split, but the ECNL events are much more college coach friendly.

If you are talking about girls, then DA has been only around for a year or so and ECNL in Oregon for only about 4 years. You really don't have enough information to make any conclusions... especially with DA.
