Should have talked to some of the parents of older players (at both clubs).

The whole ECNL/DA thing stinks and is a disservice to all of us but it is what it is. We are at a Florida DA club and every D1 college coach that my daughter requested came to see her in Oceanside.

TAMPA, FL (April 10, 2018) – As a result of an anonymous grant to the Tampa Bay United (TBU) Rowdies, the players selected for the U13 Girls ECNL and Premier teams will have their Club Registration Fees waived for the 2018-19 season. This grant will affect thirty 2006 (birth year) girls players. This is a test/experiment beginning with this age bracket with the ultimate goal to do this with all competitive age groups in the next few years.

Also, I highly doubt anyone is playing at WFF for free. This is just deflection because the idea that these players decided to move on for better opportunities is too painful. It is funny that the management at TBU is trying to stem off the tide of top players leaving for DA by offering their incoming ECNL age team free registration. This should tell you everything unless of course you are delusional.

Weird how she bounces around so much though, and compared to her last few gigs...you have to wonder what her end game is in mind at WFF?

This is copied from the socalsoccer forum, but a member used the college soccer RPI formula on the GDA standings 2017-18 and came up with GDA club rankings. Is that the best measure? (Using College Soccer RPI formula) I do not know, but the topic was more of a Southern Caifornia clubs vs. Other states/regions, so not necessarily the typical GDA vs. ECNL bashing that is spouted on all these threads. College Commitments
These threads are always so amusing...are none of the parents that argue back and forth business people? How about using some real metrics in order to judge what is a better choice for your kid?
I don't know much about the WFF's actual college commitments, but as a '04 TBU parent, I am looking very closely at the older girls at our club. This should give any parent a better idea of what to expect once their daughter is a sophomore or junior in HS. So far it's promising. Here are the actual commitments for the ECNL '00, '01 and '02s at TBU (per their Facebook Page). If you feel that WFF is just as good or better, and your daughter's ultimate goal is to play in college, then stay!
USF
Wake Forest
UAB
UCF
Columbia University
Bryn Mawr
Eckerd College
University of Florida
Lipscomb
University of Pennsylvania
Florida Tech
Florida College
Florida Atlantic University
Ohio State University
Palm Beach Atlantic University
University of Massachusetts
American University
Northeastern Univesity
Probably more that I have missed.
Stop arguing like petulant children! It's embarrassing. Instead, study the facts and do what's right for you and your family.
