Regardless of club or league, how many girls on average go on to play college soccer from JC to D1 from OR?

If a female player wants to play soccer in college, you can find a place to play. 100% that want to play college soccer and play soccer year around find a school. On average you will find that every team has a handful that quit, think they are too good for offers, in decisive or other priorities that lead them to not playing.

Someone commits early doesn't mean much when no one ever discloses the amount or agreement. One can commit to a school early that says 1500$ per year toward tuition while we carry 28 players on a roster. While another doesn't play for a school at a different college that will pay 75% tuition and expect you to be a starter if you meet expectations. Simply decides to not play and go to a school that meets other interests.

All the top 5-6 teams in the state will have players go to college to play. Top 10 in Washington. All will have players go to every level in college. The next 7-10 will have 1-4 that will play in college.

It's also important to point out that the road to playing in college is happening in many different ways and they all lead to every level of school. Don't be fooled by absolutes or league marketing themes. If your kid is playing 3-5x a week you will be fine. What is next is find somewhere they enjoy and get to play the most. It's not complicated or has to be expensive. Everyone is so focused on each other that once everyone graduates you hope your kid will have what they had before. A place to play 4-6x a week and where they enjoy and get to play the most while they go to college.

      Spot on.

Add on to these talking points. - Commit does not always equal $, even for D1s. Schools decide how to allocate funds for their teams.

Largely correct but it does depends on what level of player you're talking about. Top level = 100% if the player wants. It drops down as you drop down the ladder. Not "everyone" in the playing universe can get recruited, and some that might would have to make too many compromises to make it worth while - play on a garbage team at some Podunk college with lousy academics in KS? No thanks. Only 9.6% of all HS aged players will play at any college level and just 2.3% any D1. http://www.scholarshipstats.com/soccer.html

Also spot on. Don’t forget that there are also MANY girls that actually choose to “play on a garbage team at some Podunk college with lousy academics”. More often than not it’s in the Northwest and not Kansas but it could be anywhere. Could be because they aren’t very good students and they aren’t very good soccer players but they love the game. Sadly, many times it’s delusional parents that steer them to any school that will take them just so they can brag that their dd is playing soccer in college. Those are the ones I feel sorry for.

Have seen this way too often at our club. Parents right to screw up their own kids though.

Most of these type of parents/families gravitate to local clubs like CU & FC P buying into the complete BS and like you I truly feel sorry for them. Great point.

Another reason we're with DA. More time to focus on studies. Our daughter has been able to avoid all the extra socializing that comes with 'fitting in' to a High school soccer team. Alot less meeting time consumed as well. We are saving time and money and allowing her to improve from a 'C' student to now over 2.7 GPA and rising with 3 years to improve even more! Now we can see Standford, Pepperdine, UW, Rice, Brown, Harvard as well as lesser known Div 2 schools being real possibilities, all courtesy of the Development Academy. And who knows, our direct connection to NWSL pays dividends we don't even see yet.

                      Bro,
You lost us at 2.7. All the schools you say are in the mix? No they are not. You and GDA are perfect for each other.

Op wasn’t asking whether players could play in college. They asked how many.

There are several of both kinds of those at our Alliance club. Truly sorry for the ones with the pushy delusional parents. Then they wonder why no one is impressed with their Podunk U hoodie. After college, the poor girl wonders why employers aren’t impressed with her Podunk U degree.

I relish their insanity, it's awesome! No pity whatsoever.
