Originally posted by Unregistered View PostBend has not won anything yet. There are several ways where they could actually not make it out of pool play- if they lose to adf and Eugene beats adf (let’s assume both will beat woodburn) Or if they tie with Eugene for second place in the pool and have a worse goal differential than Eugene or any other of the tie breakers that are before the pk’s-
1) ETFC and Bend both win out. They both advance, finishing with 7 points apiece. ADF goes home. Tiebreakers decide who is first (and will probably get to play Cuervos or one of the Group C minnows in the quarterfinals) and who is second and gets to play OPFC.
2) ETFC and Bend both beat Woodburn, lose to ADF. ADF win the group, ONE of the Alliance clubs (both of whom will finish with 4 points) will advance, the other goes home. The "shootout" will be the last tiebreaker (goal differential first, than goals allowed, then goals scored) but if the other things are equal, it will decide who moves on.
3) ETFC and Bend both beat Woodburn, and tie ADF. A three-way tie at the top of the group, with ADF, Eugene, and Bend each having five points. In this scenario, shootouts will be conducted at the end of the other two ties. When there is a 3-way tie, head-to-head results aren't used. Tiebreakers will be used until one team either is the clear winner, or is eliminated. Tiebreaking procedures will be repeated with the remaining two teams (and the shootout will be considered in a two-way tiebreaker). The case of the 3-way tie COULD be decided by chance. Unlikely, but possible.

A1 vs B2 and C2 vs D1 on one side of the bracket, A2 vs B1 and C1 vs D2 on the other.

FC is not going to lose to OVF.
Likewise, HSC is virtually eliminated; only way THEY could advance is for FC and USC to beat OVF, and HSC then beats UPDX, giving FC 9 points and three teams tied with 3, one of whom would advance.
HSC is not going to beat UPDX.
OVF currently is 3 points ahead of UPDX, with two games remaining; but OVF's games are against the two Premier Gold teams in the group, and UPDX's games are against the two Silver teams. OVF/UPDX match is key--if OVF wins they are through, if UPDX wins they are through unless weird sh*t happens. If it's a tie... watch out.
Still awaiting the score of RVT vs UPDX Blue, which for some reason is being played in the Couv....

WT & CFC, FCP & UPDX, OPFC & CROWS- sorry to the ovf’s and rvt’s of the world, but it was just an exercise to warm up for the quarters. The only questions/drama was going to come from group d that has 3 really good teams that have the ability to beat any other team in the entire field...
I could still see UPDX Blue or Rogue Valley sneaking past the Crows. Cuervos has to play RVT in Medford, depending who shows up they could drop that game. They aren't as strong as they were two years ago.
And Group D is certainly the Group of Death, though I still haven't seen BFCT up close and personal this season.

Other than that, nothing unusual about the officiating. Physical but not dirty game, fun to watch.

Westside takes a free kick into the box, #11 (wst) gets a head on it from around 12 yards and sends it to #8 (wst) who is clearly offside standing on the 6 yard line. #8 (wst) then kicks it in and is immediately called offside by the AR. Not much a protest from the Westside players involved and absolutely no objection to the call from the Westside coach who can be seen in the corner of the video. All players from both teams get set up for a goal kick and then the referee walks over to tell the AR that he will give him a portion of his payout if Westside were to win. The goal is given and the game is over!
