Our team was just down at Jefferson and I got into a conversation with two young college/club coaches (think one was from was YMS) sitting in the hotel lobby one night. One was from the west coast and one was from the mid Atlantic. Both have recruiting responsibilities. Both commented on how watered down club soccer has become. They specifically said that places like California are actually very watered down now and it is. causing problems recruiting for the college level. They felt the dilution was making it much harder to actually find the type of player they were looking for and many of the players they were interested in they felt had grown "stale" (their term) from being under challenged. They were both very pessimistic about what they were seeing.

Wow, it's people like you who feed the monster that is club soccer. You will throw money into the sink holes that some of these clubs are and not even stop to think about what is going on out there. You'll just follow the crowd right off the ledge.

I have no idea how a clown like BB has been given another prominent position at a Club - Stars must have money to burn... letting this tool TRY and build up a brand new program...

Because he is a very good coach. The BB bashers are always bringing up how he has moved on from several clubs and steals kids as he goes. Now if he wasn't good at what he does why do these parents/players continue to follow? Is it because he is an ass and the parents are torturing their kids by sending them or are the kids getting better?
