Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWhat a sham. "Partnering" with the revs. Its a moneymaker somehow for the Revs. I remember how much fanfare CFC Wolves made of their partnership with the revs a few years ago ..... never amounted to anything except for expensive group rates to revs games. Our coaches were supposed to get additional training ... they still stink. Kids were supposed to get some clinics ..... nope. SHAM!

Great idea Glastonbury. You are already losing your top talent to OW and CFC, so let's introduce another club that has one interest in mind... Take your players
Great decision by the club, we already lose kids to OW's Academy, so let's partner with another Academy so more kids don't make their way to GHS.
These aren't partnerships. There is nothing in it for Glastonbury, it's all about spreading the Rev's footprint which they have proven they don't care about their Academy (unlike NYCFC and Red Bull that invest in it).

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThis has been going on in CT since South Central District created a District All Star Team that was the precursor for SCPremier. My son played on one of those early teams. Some towns look at Premier teams as a great opportunity to get players quality competition and training and other towns look at Premier as the program that is stealing their players. If you look at HS programs the teams that win the state Year in and year out are catholic schools that can recruit players or schools that are close to a Premier Club and have a full squad of Premier players playing. Once upon a time before there was Premier you had town programs that started Saturday morning youth soccer. Those forward thinking towns like Guilford had a leg up on everyone and won scores of titles. Now a HS like Guilford can't get out of their own way. The reason?? No strong Premier clubs in that area. If any of their players want to play Oakwood, FSA and CFC they are just too far away. Not enough players that can commit to playing at a high level club. South Central Premier used to be at that level but they have crashed and burned.
