    Harvard men’s soccer

JS will be the new HC at Harvard on the men’s side. That is a great hire. Played at Middlebury. Coached at Gtown and took Tufts to national championships. Congrats Harvard

Good move by the coach, mistake for Harvard. Tells everyone that they are de-emphasizing the men's program.

Why? He’s won FOUR D3 championships and knows about high level academic recruiting. Great fit. Time will tell but this bodes well for the HU men’s soccer program.

Sorry if you like the guy. Resume says he is a really good coach. Only low level programs hire division jumpers though. You would never see a front running program do that

          Have you seen Harvard’s record?

The record really speaks to them giving up with this hire. You don't drop down and hire a D3 coach after going 0-14-1.

              2017: 2-10-4

              2018: 3-13

              2019: 0-14-1

You were saying? They sure didn’t succeed thinking the way you do.

What a complete moron. It's obvious that you are not talking about your alma mater.

The Stanford coach was a “division jumper”

Interesting that BT was the assistant to JS at Tufts when they were building the program prior to the championships.

After 3 horrible seasons, the job at Harvard is a very heavy lift. The circumstances would seem to indicate a lack of interest in the program by the AD and the losing record indicates that the cupboard is pretty much void of talent. Chances of success are pretty slim. Wonder how many will be calling for his scalp next year?

No announcement yet, are we sure it's Shapiro?

Totally agree. Besides, it really can't get worse than where Harvard is at currently. It's Harvard - he'll have no trouble finding smart recruits and even if he shaves the record to .50 it's lightyears ahead of where they are now.

Did you get passed over for the job? You sure are bitter.

If true, this is a phenomenal hire. Harvard is extremely fortunate.

As for the negativity, thank our dear guru who thinks he gets to decide stuff, BTNT. Not long ago he insisted that a D1 school would never hire a D3 coach. So now of course he is required to denigrate the job. Disgusting, disgusting guy. A true pig.

When Shapiro too over Tufts that program was almost in as bad a shape as Harvard is now. He not only completely rebuilt the Tufts program but led them to four national titles in the last six years.
