I think everyone would agree, that no matter how well the Venice girls do in the post season they have all of our sympathy! Worst group of parents ever!

I have a Complete opposite opinion. Traveled from Jacksonville to play Venice. Wonderful hosts. Set up activities for our girls and cooked for us after both games. Parents were first class.

Same very hospitable experience traveling to play Venice from CGHS. Went above and beyond to feed our entire group before heading home and no issues throughout a very close game.

Where are the HS rules stating who makes it though districts? Why wouldn't the second place team play in Regionals?

True. The new MaxPreps ranking system is far from perfect. It still rewards teams mainly for wins even if they are beating up on bad teams. Strength of schedule doesn't matter much.

#1 and #2 still go to Regionals, they are just reseeded. Not like years past where Regional 1 plays 2.

Because taking second place in the district tournament is often a worse team than the teams ranked 1-4 in the region behind the district winners.

In reality an underdog team with a horrible record and MaxPrep standing could win Districts and propel automatically to the Region tournament, but that has always been the case. However, taking second place in the district tournament will not help a team get to Regionals.
