There is no evidence--other than some rumors posted here, likely by a rival club faction that is well known for lying in this forum--that any 07s are playing up, let alone doing so due to insufficient 05 players (as opposed to a talented 07 who needs to do so for development purposes).

The liars and shills for ECNL may have a nice conversation with each "other", assuming that a given lie is true and ruminating on its ramifications, but nobody is fooled.

Thorns is merely another option if you are unhappy with your existing club. So why put it down? The playing time guarantee is attractive in many ways.

      To each their own!
We all have interest in what's going on with thorns DA because it's billed, and heavily sold, as "THE Elite program" directly competes with ECNL for players, is subsidized (but no transparency) etc etc.

There shouldn't be any need to move players between rosters if you have adequate player pools. Yes we all understand physical maturity at these ages varies tremendously. Academy should be forming advanced competitive teams with the best prospects on age. If they can't do that for lack of players, that is a problem that we all should be aware of. I'm not 'putting it down' I'm suggesting more a more honest billing of the program and transparency.

What are the costs for the thorns academy?

$125 tryouts and $2,950.00 for fees and $900-$1,200 for showcases? Is that correct?

There are no 2007’s on the current U14 Thorns Academy team and there will not be any on next year’s team. Now, climb back under your rock and come up with another conspiracy theory so we can have a good laugh. Dummy.

There is evidence. This thread was started last year when they couldn't fill out rosters either. And it's only worse this year. Good thing it's the last year for the GDA.

Without getting out a calculator that appears to be over $4,000? Can anyone confirm?

Multiple options is good but it really dilutes the talent in my opinion.

The entire program needs to be called out for desperate tactics like this while lying to everyone saying they are elite pathway or some bs.

If any club started playing kids two ages up at a young age like this out of desperation to fill teams, they would get slaughtered in state and laughed at.

Really, who is the coach of this age group?????
The 07 roster quote is an ECNL troll which lead to all the rest of the ECNL sheep piling on (along with the OP responding to their own post). Get a clue. GDA are not in dire straights. The insecurity of the ECNL honchos leads to the propaganda against GDA. If your livelihood was being challenged by a league offering a better training environment (facilities, coaches) plus more value (more training sessions, less $) then you would fabricate these falsehoods as well. This isn't surprising but what is is the amount of parents who believe it.
ECNL=good training, high costs, good college exposure.
GDA=Good training, more training , reasonable costs, good college exposure.
OYSA=good training depending on which club/ team you end up on. Similar cost to GDA. College exposure dependent on which club/ team you are on but typically less than GDA/ECNL.

Maybe lists won’t be posted so they won’t get ridiculed? It’s a no win situation.

That’s not a bad deal. ECNL is about $1,500 more per year.

If you are comparing the cost of thorns and ECNL you also have to factor in that ECNL allows you to play in high school, which is worth a lot.

Top talent doesn’t have to give up high school.

You forgot to multiply that number by the 7 mos season, it's actually $1500 more per month.

                                Total Cost $10.5K per year (7 x $1500 )
for those 2 lucky OYSA neighborhood clubs.

It a deal worth 'screaming' about for sure.
