Soccer, like boxing, is very much about styles and matchups.
Possession teams tend to beat bunker-and-counter teams.
Bunker-and-counter teams tend to beat pressing teams.
Pressing teams tend to beat possession teams.
Were I to make an educated guess (not having watched any of the games involved), I bet the Las Vegas team likes to press. ADF has, in the past, been bothered by teams that can apply pressure, but are very good at breaking down teams that like to sit back on defense. OPFC is most dangerous against teams they can counterattack easily, but are less effective against set defenses and/or teams that can dominate possession.
Kind of like the state cup games. If you are familiar with the styles of the teams involved, many of the results aren't surprising.

LVSA repeats as west region champs. Credit to ADF for making the semis, credit to OPFC for beating LVSA 3-1.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostHow was Clash at the Border? I looked and could not find the schedule/results. What teams were entered this year...aside from Washington Timbers and Westside? Clearly, it had to have been hot as hell playing!
Friday night, wt tied "Albion" (essentially Woodburn) 1-1, WashT tied Cuervos 2-2. Saturday Westside beat a CA team 3-2, Washington beat some other team, not sure the score. WT and Washington Timbers were scheduled to meet in one semifinal Sunday morning, but all Sunday games were cancelled.
Unfortunately, the schedule page was taken down so the results aren't currently published.

Now got some scores, so pass the popcorn.
0PFC 4, WPFC Black 0.
Westside 5, WPFC ECNL 1
Snohomish 2, F-Bombs 1
Did someone poison the water in Tacoma? (More than it already is, that is?)
