They aren't really that good. Any high level club team would take apart a high school team. You pushed your kid into giving up HS soccer so now deal with the fact that no really cares about OW DA. Have your kid chat with some of the players that left that find themselves in the Sports page every week.

If you are fortunate enough to have your daughter go through the recruiting process, ask most college coaches their opinion on the Academy. I think you'll find that overwhelming majority of them prefer to have their players coming in with high school experience.

No one would ever argue that the training environment is remotely close. There are intangibles that you get from school soccer that you just cannot get in the club game. top HS players get moved around the field to help their teams win. Most end up as the on field leaders by their junior year. Being leaders and helping teams reach their goals are among many intangibles that players take away from HS soccer

That’s equivalent to strength of schedule. I believe the higher the number the stronger the schedule

It’s utilized to break ties involving number of points.

          Thanks you for responding.

Do you, or anyone else, know what makes up the number in the Opp. W/T Ranking column?
Is it the total number of wins and ties for all the teams a team has played to date?

You DA people crack me up- do you think these kids were hidden during their youth days?
We know the DA kids and their talent level (s)
Some are top players but the bulk are just ok and really are just filler

When a team beats another, the ranking points are added to their total. For a tie, 50% of ranking points are added.

The best OW DA players minus LK play at Loomis. Hows their season going? They've had a couple bad losses this year.

Yes, it's not as complicated as it seems. Listed in the standings, after your teams W/L/T, the next column is their "point ranking" (i.e 3 pts per win, 1 per tie). The next/final column labeled "Opp. W/T Ranking" is just the sum total of all your team's opponents' "point ranking" (or half if the result was a tie as OP said). For CIAC purposes, it is only used as the 4th tiebreaker, right before random lots.

The full explanation is here: http://content.ciacsports.com/tp/soc1819.pdf
Scroll down to page 9, Section 6.1 subsection b.

Note: Neither point ranking nor OPP have anything to do with qualifying for states. That's a simple, yet different formula, ((2 X wins)+Ties)/(2xgames played)>=.400,
(Added reminder) All games must be played and/or forfeited, so a team may achieve .400, lose their last game and fail to qualify.

Please explain their bad losses. 1 was to Nobles 4 - 2 and the other was to Porters 3 - 0????

Its prep schools that are in lower classes. Glastonbury wouldn't lose to S class or M class teams.
Nobles who? Porters who? Its not top teams.

Ok we will pass this off as fake news as you have not a clue. Stay up on the public’s because actually just because. Would love to see Glastonbury play saint joes. St joes heavy favorite.
If you think nobles and porters are lower class teams how bout schedule a game with your team. That would not be fake news. Why do you mention Glastonbury. Loomis Nobles and Porters mop the floor with them.

Porter's as in AD's Miss Porters? In kickball probably, but in soccer, no chance. A bunch of recruited FSA kickballers from across the nation over there and the kids limited to 06033 still beat them. OW played FSA in the spring and kicked their butts ...... Glastonbury plays better soccer (like OW to FSA).

St. Joes of course would be heavy favorites. Glastonbury simply can't compete against FCIAC teams, just don't know what it is when they play against those powerhouses in Fairfield County. Hmm

Thank Freshman SJ Dad. Are you f-ing kidding me? Glastonbury won 3 of the last 4 state titles and currently sit at #1 in LL.

The roster is a mix of kids from various clubs including CFC United kids that eat your kids when down there. Get over yourself.

You people pay tuition for a ****$y Catholic HS and recruit local club kids to be good at girl's soccer. It's not impressive. Trust me.

PS. Nice loss to a public school yesterday. Ass clown
