Apparently Hampton Inn dropped another $400k towards the project along with a $275k donation from the Burgerville owner. They are at $3.1 million right now raised.

Why are we still talking about Washington Timbers in the 04 DA thread? With the 04s becoming U15s, WashT no longer has an 04 DA team; their oldest DA team are the 05s.
(Likewise for Westside, FC, etc. The only 04 DA team in town now is Timbers Academy).

Why is it that other clubs don’t even bother trying? Are they more concerned about lining their individual pockets?
Crossfire is working on a big complex;
Eastside just completed their facility;
FC partnered on Liberty;
PCU partnered on Buckman/Salvation Army;
United partnered on OES/Westside Christian/Madison/Concordia;
Westside and THUSC have worked fields through Tualatin District.
What Washington Timbers has done is great, took a long time. Helped they get land essentially for free and always going to be easier to build a clubhouse/exclusivity though in the suburbs than closer to central Portland (few big parcels of land).

Nobody cares about your little league.
Nothing has changed.
Same coaches
Same opponents
Same players
Same results
But at least you get Gatorade at the game...
DA is a joke.

Eastside has a couple fields, it's still on the eastside.
FC is on shaky grounds with Hillsboro S District, lease is up.
PCU has a worn out mat at Benson HS.
United/NEU rents time from whoever is willing
WST & THUSC have a kindgom of turf & grass fields all the other clubs mentioned combined don't have this spoils of riches.
Nobody is doing squat.

Neither, of course, is "cruddy". THUSC (particularly CU) is one of the strongest girls' programs in the state (and lets be honest--Crossfire provides the name, THUSC provides the talent). Westside remains one of the strongest boys' programs overall.
Powerlines Park may be cruddy, I'll agree with that.
