NY Times poster - No one said these were scholarships, just where they committed to/are attending. But your point is well taken. It is very rare player that gets a full ride, let alone much of any school dollars. However, if the goal is for a player to have a chance of playing in college then I think most can agree (I anyone every agrees on TS) that a player has a better chance of exposure to coaches playing for a top club than only play for his/her HS.

These lists also can't take into account what kid of students these players are, what their college academic goals are (which really should be the number one priority), etc. Whoever started this ******* contest/college list is simply listing schools. Just by sheer numbers OW's list is not as impressive as CFC and YU. You can debate the quality of schools, quality of soccer all day long. Everyone will have their own opinion.

You can't always trust these lists. While Lindsay Crevoiserat is a fantastic CT athlete, she certainly did not go to UCONN for soccer.

She in fact ran cross country and recently transferred out of Uconn

I am sure OW had something to do with her running ability

                          Crevoiserat Transfers

Glastonbury's Lindsay Crevoiserat has transferred from UConn to Oregon after her cross-country and assistant track coach Andrea Grove-McDonough left UConn to go to Iowa State. Crevoiserat, the Courant's two-time Female Athlete of the Year, led UConn to an eighth place finish in its first NCAA cross country championship last fall. "I love UConn and I'm glad I went," said Crevoiserat, who will be a junior. "The reason I went was for my coach. When she left, I didn't get released to Iowa State but I got released [for other schools]. So I looked at other options.

I agree. However a well rounded student-athlete that plays multiple High School Sports can still build an impressive resume to gain admittance to a top school. They may not play a sport there, but it could help them get in.

I highly doubt that playing soccer had anything to do with her elite running ability. I did admire that she was willing to put her body and her knees on the line for what was essentially an activity.
