Worst parent admins

Kelley Kitley, a licensed clinical social worker, adds that lawnmower parenting can also manifest as “pulling strings to get your child onto a certain sports team”, ”setting up a rigorous summer schedule that is all work and no play to get ahead” or “not allowing your child to choose activities they want to participate in or forcing them not to ‘quit’ if they no longer enjoy it”.
“These parents think they are helping their children, but [they’re] robbing kids of the chance to face obstacles, [meaning] these kids don't get practice dealing with challenges and developing healthy expectations,” Rankin says. “Kids who receive the best of everything and don’t have opportunities to practice defeat will later struggle when coping with life's messy nature. Such children are also less likely to appreciate their good fortune; gratitude is a vital ingredient for happiness.”

Agree with the worst parent admins being those who are really leveraging their "work" to get extra special treatment for their kid. Have witnessed at first hand and it is not good and causes real issues on teams. It is especially bad on higher level teams where many of the players are more than good enough to just go elsewhere once they realize they will never get the same treatment or opportunities the admion's kid gets.
A good admin specifically goes out of their way to only set up the dinners, hotels, etc and who never tries to own the process, talk to the coaches or horde info.

parent admins make or break teams. had one lady who was using the team fund to help her pay her debts and then tell parents that we weren't getting accepted into tournaments. Reported to club board and they ignored it. Took ages to get refunds, team fell apart and the admin blamed the coach when the team disintegrated.

"Entitled to perks"? Wow, another clueless hell raiser we got here. Decent people don't volunteer for "perks" and good people to expect their kid to be bumped ahead because they are the team admin. Healthy adults want their kids to get things because their kid actually earned it and deserves it.
Keep keeping it classy!

Adds up to a few hours a week, at most. Arranging for some travel, being a resource to answer dumb questions, maybe a meal or two. Passing the hate for a charity the club runs.
It's called "volunteer" for a reason. No expectation to get anything in return. Any extra trainings my kid is offered she is offered them based on merit.
Those who volunteer, then try to lay the guilt trip on everyone else are just martyrs. No need for them. You'd be better off just stepping aside if it makes you so irritable.
