Ecnl was ok before Sunrise and still in good shape. Otherwise Sunrise would have never sold out for the patch.

Having watched sunrise black 04 (they are all over YouTube) and then playing against the GA and NC teams , maybe 3 girls from sunrise 04 would actually be able to compete in gda

Come on. For sure its a hard team to watch but, most of those kids played at some point on the Weston GDA. I have no doubt that if Weston just used the entire 04 team, Weston would have finished no lower than 3rd.

USSF is famous for politics and friendly deals and these are two good examples of that.

Other national clubs have left GDA purely because of money (vested interest in the ECNL succeeding because people running the “all in clubs” clubs are on the board of directors of ECNL and pure number of players = more money from ECNL with more age groups and more teams). Money talks.

GDA has problems, certainly. Roll out could have been better. HS soccer matters to girls, apparently. ECNL is forcing clubs to make a choice with an ultimatum. None of GDA problems have to do with talent or quality of the league. ECNL as a whole is bigger and more watered down. They are adding clubs everywhere making it LESS ELITE. ECNL is currently in the process of becoming the exact type of league that it was trying to replace when it was originally conceived. The numbers and facts speak to this. All in effort to win market share from GDA.

Honestly, the whole thing is a shltshow. Which is why it’s funny that all you clowns are on here debating which dumpster fire is less hot.

Agreed, ECNL is like a company selling products at or below cost to gain market share. However ECNL is lessening the quality of their product which is also a main marketing point. DA has decided they overreached and are reducing age groups and clubs while ECNL is going in the opposite direction by adding multiple clubs starting a boys league from scratch, etc. You can either have a centralized approach to soccer or let the free market decide. What we are seeing now is the latter. We should find out how it all ends up in 3-5 years. In the meantime the girls in the system now are nothing but fodder and guinea pigs.
