We looked closely at both (ECNL and GDA). Based on everything we saw ( in the 16-county region around Tampa Bay, clearly TBU is the best (for us). Good luck to everyone!

Plus a lot of the parents of the last 4 girls selected often beg to be added to the ECNL roster instead of one of the other teams because they want the college coach exposure for their D.
Begging to be #18-22? How stupid and desperate can a person be. No college is going to be scouting a team's bench sitters. You gullible parents make it possible for AB to keep this bullcrap up. He feeds you a sh$t sandwich each year, and you keep eating. He once knew how to coach, now he's just another yy, lazy and complacent. Has he ever coached a winning team either? The 04s didn't get better. Now they have 05s from other clubs who didn't play and injured taking spots. So much for loyalty to their own.

"Now they have 05s from other clubs who didn't play and injured taking spots." What does this mean?

It seems like you are more familiar with FYSA level play and not ECNL. "No college is going to be scouting a team's bench sitters." In ECNL, where there are "showcases" the club plays all the players equal time at showcases to that each player gets equal exposure to college scouts. That is not necessarily the case on ECNL league play where the club is playing to win. Now, I understand that on your team they probably play the starting 11 with a few subs because the stakes are so high when you are pursuing the Florida State Cup and all the glory that goes with that.

It means your daughter will never get off the 2nd team no matter how hard she works because you have parents from wff calling AB pre tryouts to hold spots.

I'm plenty familiar. You are spinning. If you are on a roster of 20+ and not a starter, you are not playing, therefore not developing. That is universal. You aren't going to show very well. College coaches aren't stupid, they aren't scouting players who don't play. Only naive parents of kids who travel around and pay to sit are that badly in denial to want to believe that.

Why do you assume my kid is on the 2nd team? You're funny

Or it could mean your kid won't get off the 3rd team because nobody gets pulled up from 2nd? Or maybe your kid now sits even more now on 1st team after going 16th to now 20th on depth chart. What it does mean is that there is no opportunity for kids not already rostered on 1st teams at tbu. Dingleberry im charge would rather cram rosters with non spectacular outsiders than non spectacular insiders. Money$$

"College coaches aren't stupid, they aren't scouting players who don't play." Not the OP but I believe he/she said that at ECNL Showcases, all the players get to play equal time. Where did you get the "....players who don't play." Looks like you are spinning.

Taking 22 players on a roster at the highschool ages is important. More so for girls teams but Boys have the same issues, just at a lesser degree. The reasons given of highschool events, injuries and lack of interest plague older teams, especially traveling teams. Often by the end of the season a team of 22 players will have 15-16 on a bench.

The ECNL does require that players play every game. Not sure if it has to be equal but it often is a good portion of a half. This is because these events are for college scouts and coaches. They can't see a kid on the beach. Most coaches during college recruiting understand that these tournaments have a different purpose than league or regular tournaments. Refs also are told and less likely to give red cards, so players can play in the next game. If it's a fight your put, but missed tackle as last defender, probably only a yellow. College coaches are also do not care about the score but looking at individuals to fill needs. Much more similar to tryouts. Coaches of these ages know this and as a player if you know a coach is coming to watch you make sure your coaches know as you may only get 15 mins of the college coaches time, you want to be on the field during that time.

To be the 18-22 person on a traveling team can be very beneficial depending on your goals. If you are hoping to play at a stronger school or be seen by colleges outside of the metro you need to be on a traveling team. Colleges only have so many official scouting trips. But oftrn will come to local tournaments unofficially.

Because of the 15 mins mentioned above it is important to record your highlights. Part of the title and description should be the team your one, team your versing and the league/tournament. This gives the viewer an idea of the competition level your against, which is important. This is again playing against the highest competition you can even as the 18-22 person is also important.

To many do join the top team for the wrong reasons, and that is why by the end of the season you often will loose players who lack interest and need the extra players.

That is funny, because the three 05's that came over from WFF have been on regional ODP and regular attendees at NTC over the years. They did not stay at WFF due to the staff at the DA, as well as DA over all structure.

As for "cramming" the roster, the 05 ECNL doesn't even have 18 players on it
