Posting from another state with very little Talking Soccer action....ODP is dead in our state and many around us. Certainly no DA level kids past U13-14 (not allowed), or really many ECNL players either, at least not the better ones. The quality of players has nosedived. Now with boys ECNL and GDA it will drop even further. It's expensive and a poor value - some teams only practice once a month. There are so many other ID platforms out there now and most players only care about college exposure any way, not getting NT invites.

That's cute posting the rules. The rules also require a minimum of four trainings a week. The rules also expressly prohibit a try out fee. US Soccer is a shell organization with no power. Thorns can do whatever they want. Nobody cares what US Soccer has to say.

With kids doing the High School/ECNL/ODP path the injury rate is higher not only because they have three sets of coaches not communicating with one another as respects training sessions, but because the level of play in high school is also so much lower.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostActually they are not. With DA they kids are working on a balanced training schedule that contemplates muscle recovery. It's the same type of schedule used by professionals and it's designed specifically to prevent overuse by spacing out high intensity workouts, weight training, etc with low intensity/impact training sessions. It's all under one roof. This is one reason that when training hits four days a week the kids should not get outside training.

The goal is to weaken the women's side like they have done on the men's side.

It is too bad they are getting involved on the girls side which was doing just fine.
