My kid's high school has Sporting kids on the JV roster.

Talk about ******* your hard earned money away.

At one point a few years ago CFC would enter their ECNL teams into their own June tournament. I recall at one age group they played Ginga who was the State Cup Champs at the time. United won by 5 goals and then proceeded to play keep away. The difference between the top few teams ECNL and Academy and everyone else is pretty massive
Totally false. Look at the 03 cfcu team. Bunch of slow, lumbering kids who couldn't beat the tip travel teams in ct. Just not very good. Sorry cfcu mom.

Judged by you. They are top 2003 team in the state. The team plays some of the best competition in the country and does well. They played branch and premier teams last year in CFC tournament and destroyed the competition, not even close.

Probably easier to say it's just not a great age in general in CT. FSA and CFC are both "ok" at this age. OW is combined with 17s, got hammered this week and lost players back to high school soccer. Everyone else (Ginga, Rush etc) aren't in the discussion except for in the minds of their own parents. If you can make a top team as a Sophomore in high school you don't choose third rate clubs in the hope that it might work out.

Cfc should have the ecnl teams play the Ct teams in a invitational tournament to show how superior their quality is over these teams. Love to see it!

They've done it in the past at the CFC tournament. They held out their two crown jewels last year as supposedly it was a blood bath the year prior. As the parent of a younger player I was actually looking forward to watching them play.

Thats why that team has 50 top D1 coaches at their tournament games.
I guess those coaches were at your daughter's games also, maybe not.

not the poster but there's a massive difference between top d1 and low level d1. That teams is one of their weaker ones but there's some talent there. Plenty of those players will land on their feet and many will be perfectly happy to play at good academic d3s as well. D1 isn't the goal of every player, few in fact. It's about the school.
