These are kids who are 12 and 13 years old.
And you wonder why this country doesn't have 1 legit attacking player. Its because moms and dads like you don't want your kids feelings hurt. It's about sportsmanship, its about developing an attacking mindset. So all of you "develop" people, making good decisions in the attacking third is development. TAKING shots in the attacking third is development, and scoring goals is development.
Recycling the ball around for 90 mins is not. Passing the ball backwards when an open shot should be taken is NOT DEVELOPMENT!!
Sportmanship is not development! The YMCA can teach that.
The only way to develop attacking players is to encourgage scoring!

Whoever keeps talking about attacking has obviously not been around or grown up with soccer
Watch professional and national teams outside the US
The best teams play possession
Of course, they also attack
But they play possession
If you don't have the ball you can't score !
You're obviously new to the sport
Not trying to be childish or insulting
People who have only watched soccer growing up ... No football or baseball or hockey available, just soccer, know that soccer is a game of possession

Ashamed? what a joke! You are out of your mind! Honestly, kids should be 14 and 15 years old playing in this age group. Did you ever think that the other clubs who have competitive academies should not suffer because your club can't field a team with 2000's? If you are so worried about the score you should seriously consider your child not being in this program. Unbelievable!

So yes they deserved to have that happen and it wasn't the first time this year. If they're going to give up they deserve it. They are a young team but there is no reason for the score like that. It is on them.

Interesting breakdown of top two teams and bottom two teams looking at age of FT 2000's:
Weston U15 - 14 players
Weston U14 - 5 players
OC u15 - 7 players
OC u14 - 2 players
Jax u15 - 5 players
Jax u14 - 8 players
IMG u15 - 0 players
IMG u14 - 5 players
This certainly gives merit to the idea age does make a difference (probably as pp mentioned about puberty, speed, etc) Interesting that OC has so many DP's and also interesting that the u15's from OC and Weston have MANY January and February birthdays. This does make a lot of the 2000's almost a whole year older and another whole year of playing experience based on FYSA age.
What I have not seen mentioned in this discussion on age is MATURITY. I would say that's worth MORE than a year of size or speed. So, all thing considered, I would say that overall, age does matter.
For those that choose to criticize that it's not fair to have to play these teams, let's consider the facts that in IMG's case, it was U.S Soccer that changed the rules on their players. No fault of IMG or the currently rostered players. Jax has a one-year program. I have read the Jax-area threads. Area players don't want to leave their home club for a one-year gig. Again - U.S. Soccer. And don't throw out there that TBU is managing with a one year program because that's a different scenario. First you have players trying to break into the CLW program so WILL go for a one year gig, second it's a larger area in terms of population , and third - Have you seen the style of play at TBU ???????
