    Florida 04/05 boys-rising u10's

Who are the top teams in the rising u10 age group for next year? OCYS looks to be the top of the bunch but are there any other top teams in the area?

    #2
OCYS will probably have 2 really good teams at that age as I believe all 7 or 8 of the kids from the Rush team ended up at OCYS. I believe that OCYS was the only real competition for that Rush team last year.

In south florida it is hard to compete against central florida when you have more than 10 clubs and the talent gets spread out. Just in South Dade you have more than 5 clubs less than 15 miles apart (Key biscayne, South Miami, toros, Kendall Coalition, Pinecrest, Kendall Breakers, etc...)

there are over 15 teams just named a few very close you still have Kendall Hammocks, Parma, Strike force, Gulliver, two Homestead teams, Real madrid, doral, Miami Beach soccer. not to mention the teams at the border of North miami/Broward
One canot keep the talent in one or two teams.

Not sure what Rush will have left now that LA has taken his team to OCYS. ACYS had a few good players last year did they add anyone else? FKK was horrible at 04/05 age group. Maitland and Greater Osc. were ok as well. Has anyone played any of the 04/05 teams in Miami?

West Pines is tops in Broward / Miami Dade on the boys side, not girls though.

I'm sure the top 10's will be playing 8v8 next season.

You are correct. Teams from central florida do not understand how fractured the soccer scene is here in south florida. there is plenty of talent, but between the large number of clubs and large number of parents that refuse to buy into a program that does not star their kid (why should they? just keep on hopping to another of the 20-30 clubs to choose from until you find one that stars your kid..), you end up with central fl clubs that outperform so fla clubs. OCYS is an academy level program, let's keep that in mind. There is the support of a funded youth academy. There are teams in South FL (miami and homestead) that train in dirt, by way of comparison. A second assistant coach? Are you joking? Nothing against OCYS, but it is far from a level playing field when OCYS faces most clubs from south florida.

The youth academy is not fully funded and probably will not be for another few years (u9-u13). Yes, the DA is fully funded but that is for u14 and above so I am not sure what your point is about the youth academy. The landscape is not that much different in Central Florida then South Florida with a bunch of clubs "watering down" the teams because the talent has been spread out. OCYS will stand out because they have really combined teams with the old Rush group and somewhat put aside politics to become a powerhouse in the region/state. Only a very select few teams have an assistant coach and probably wont continue with that in the future. I thought "football" was in the blood down in South Florida???

At U9s last year, West Pines was outstanding while South Miami, Kendall (Blue), Key Biscayne and Breakers were very good teams.

Did any of these teams compete at major tournaments?
