A stakeholder is not an owner, but rather someone who has a stake in the successful operation of the organization. Stakeholders could be members of the nonprofit, or even beneficiaries of the nonprofit’s activities. One thing stakeholders have in common: they have no legal ability to profit personally…hence, nonprofit. A nonprofit corporation is formed to carry out a public purpose, whether that be religious, educational, charitable, scientific or whatever. It is prohibited from acting in a manner that results in private inurement (profit) to individuals.

How can that be? Someone has to own it, right? No, not really. The nonprofit organization is not “owned” by the person or persons that started it. It is a public organization that belongs to the public at-large. The parties responsible to operate the organization for the stakeholders are the members of the board of directors.

Also, a nonprofit corporation cannot be sold. It is simply not possible. If a nonprofit corporation were to “close down”, or dissolve, the board of directors of the nonprofit must distribute all of the nonprofit’s assets to another nonprofit corporation after all debts have been settled.
Then there's the reality - many clubs are non profits in name only. They have "boards" in name only. Their service to the public is questionable at best since at best they give a few scholarships and charge everyone else handsomely (actually they are similar in price to other true for profit clubs who don't pretend to be what they really are). They do in fact make a profit, which if it were a true non profit would be plowed back into "public" programs. The "chairman"/owner is paid handsomely. When he decides to bow out there are many ways to transfer ownership and assets.

Someone has a lot of time to type and very little real world knowledge. This is all very weird.

The fed? Did you just throw that out there to be nonsensical?

Non profits can't have owners? What are you talking about? Nobody said they do. Clubs have non profit organizations that own them.

This is like arguing with a cat.
I'd rather argue with a cat.

Unlike someone who types very little and know even less.

In other words a moving violation! It was only a failure to signal a turn, but I'm sure it's just the tip of the ice berg and the other shoe will drop on possible other more serious behavior soon enough. If they don't signal while turning a motor vehicle, what other deviant things might they be doing behind closed doors?? It boggles the mind. The FED and the Feds could get involved. The post office might want to investigate their property tax status. Proper authorities will want to pull up the 1099s and 1040s of everyone involved. This is going to be huge.
Unbelievable. It will be very interesting to see how it plays out.

US soccer has to be considered the biggest embarrassment of all national teams. You start the Development Academies and force kids to choose between high school and club soccer. It's been 10 years and this is what we have to show for it. We can't qualify in the worst qualifier

Couldn't agree more. The US DA system is a failure. They need to just scrap it and start looking at other systems that actually do work and start anew. The USMNT is a complete embarrassment. But hey, it's only been the women's side that has actually won anything so I guess what can you expect. Not qualifying.... wow.

Agreed. There was about a 1 in a 100 shot at the USMNT not making it into the WC. Somehow they managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of qualifying.

                  It's a staggering embarrassment.

Why again are we doing GDA? Why is the girls side taking notes from the Boys side again? USNT should stay out of youth development. This is embarrassing.
