Some think Shawn is border line abusive to the girls, some with the more older school thought thinks its tough love and just pushing to get the best out of the players. But everyone's not the same and doesn't respond the same way to that style of coaching. If the player is strong mentally and really motivated, they will excel. If they aren't, they will wash out pretty quickly. He does give 100% though, treats every session and game as something the girls will learn from, unlike some coaches who think game day is a day off and just moving players in and out of the game.

But everyone ignores the elephant in the room. It’s not just about his relationship with kids. He’s constantly in conflict with those who run clubs. The result is he moves constantly. His most loyal follow him, but as a player or parent, how often can you switch clubs, teammates, locales? Everyone who is serious is willing to jump occasionally for something better, but his record is ridiculous.

You can’t say the same about STA’s path. Not looking good. GAL is atrocious. They keep losing talent.
And what happens to all the Dynamite players? I feel bad for the ones that have followed him from club to club these past couple years. Surely they’re not all moving to Maryland.

The girls will be fine and most ECNL or GA teams will take his girls in a second.
