Copa White was 2-0 at Clash before it was canceled-lower tier..LO cup was a combo squad not the red or white team. Just a mix of available kids..LO cup bracket was short one team and wst offered to help.
It was a "gold/silver" bracket, meaning a lot of mismatches. About 4 gold teams, and six silver.
Always entertaining watching John's teams lose. At least they got to the finals again this week.
I'm curious--what do you have against John Bain? It's one thing to gripe about Cony or Jaime or JV or ME, all of whom can be in-your-face at times, and have annoyed many parents over their careers.
But John's one of the class acts of Oregon soccer. He's not only a fine coach, but a quintessential gentleman. You simply don't hear sideline harangues coming from his bench during matches, whether from him or from Monty. What's your beef with him?

Assuming they do a combined gold/silver flight, that would be ADF, Salmon Creek, Mid Valley, NWUSA, OPFC, RVT, Timbers North, Titans, and both Westside teams; 10 teams. If they did separate flights for premier and gold, your premier group would be the F Bombs, FCSC, OPFC, Titans, and the two Westside teams.
Yup. ADF also lost a few kids, but gained the top players from Pachuca.
They're not necessarily any better, but they are still a strong tough team.
Not sure what happened with them up at Crossfire though. They took a beating that weekend.

Mt Hood challenge has Copa Red, FCSC, OPFC and the Coras FC from Washington that recently did well agains the Cap Timbers and ETFC. Should be a tough group.
ADF is mixed with Copa White, Cap Timbers, and Titans of Bellevue. ADF and Cap Timber lead it off Friday.
Overall should be an excellent tournament.
There was a ton of player movement this year. Is this because the Timbers Academy is kicking off and Boys were trying to play with their friends from ODP or?

The B bracket sounds like a repeat of Group B of State Cup, but with Titans instead of FC Portland.

Watched part of both Capital Timbers games this weekend and they are looking really good. Big strong team that is going to be in the hunt in any tournament they play in. Really impressive showing.
Saw OPFC today and they looked terrible against a team Capital Timbers thoroughly dominated the day before. They possessed the ball for the majority of the time but were not able to score. Same old OPFC. Good defense and terrible offense.
UPDX has won both games this weekend and looked OK. Average team. Spotty. Their striker is big and seems to have gotten a little better with the ball. Winger was fast but needs to work on footwork. This is a team that can surprise you if you take them for granted.
Copa Red looked good in the Nike Cup as well as the Beaverton Cup. Should be the team to beat again at State Cup and league play. Really high quality players on this team. For sure have the top coaches at this age group too. Not even close.
FCSC- have not seen them this year
ADF- Have not seen them either. Merged with Pachuca and Victor- god bless him and how annoying he is..... is a winner so I would never count them out.
Mt Hood Challenge will be a good measuring stick on where the teams are.
Group A
Copa Red 3-0
FCSC 2-1
Coras 1-2
OPFC 0-3
Group B
Cap Timbers 3-0
ADF 2-1
Bellevue 1-3
Copa White 0-3

Which tournament is this?
ADF won 2 games at Clash before it was cancelled. But then, were humiliated at Crossfire. So, who knows....
FCSC lost a close 1-0 game to ADF at Clash and then knocked off a major CA team before Clash shut down. Aside from this tournament, don't know if they've played any others.....
Mt Hood looks to be a showdown of the top Oregon teams, with a month before League play commences. Should be fun

Sorry- wasn't clear that they were my predictions for Mt. Hood's group A and B and finals.
Mt. Hood Challenge started off with the expected to some mild surprises.
OPFC was dominated by Copa Red for the most part. Copa Red looked excellent in their 1-0 victory with 3 players that are sure to make the Timbers next year. OPFC has absolutely no offense but there is some talent there now. The issue is coaching. Defense was OK.
FCSC game ended in a 0-0 tie. FCSC was clearly the better team but just couldn't get the ball punched in. I do not know much about the Coras. Seemed like an OK team though. FCSC is always hard to beat.
ADF surprised Cap FC with a tie. They lost a few boys and were decimated in the Seattle at Crossfire. The boys from Pachuca stepped in nicely and Victor had them ready as he always does. Capital dominated the EAL last week with around 15 goals scored and did not concede one. Score 0-0
Copa White one agains what looks like an inferior team. Congrats to Westside for having a true B team that can compete.
