    That's funny!
team ranked#76 is the top program in New England because they are GPS!
Scorpion Bowl has hallways been low ranked tournament. That is why GPS and Bolts love it so much. The GPS tournament is like a scrimmage in the back yard. Even GPS never send their Elite teams there.

      wow
You obviously have no idea about this GPS team. Talk to Guy and have him set up a scrimmage with us. We'll even pay the rental fee for your Cohasset field to make it happen. Silly Galway parents.

Scorpions have proven they care more about the money then their players by playing last weekend.

Lets see if GPS or NEFC have more sense. My guess is they are also about the money so will also play at any cost.

So the question is really who is the worst of the bunch, not the best

Um; GPS is pretty money hungry and probably money hungry moreso than the other clubs. First, they have the most expensive tourney fees. They ran Acton HS 5 pm til 10 pm Friday and 8:30 am to 10 pm Saturday last year to get in as many games as possible as they were very short on fields to run March Madness last year. Also heard a couple of the refs there worked that entire time on Saturday. They just say that they offer full length games to make people think they are providing a better service than the Scorps and NEFC. I checked what the Scorps did this past weekend in Acton as that was a field shortage and last kickoff was at 6 pm, which meant they were done at 7 pm Saturday; 3 pm on Sunday so they were done at 4. And there was an icy corner at one of the fields which meant the ref had to direct the players to use the opposite end for corner kicks regardless of where the ball went out of the goal line.

Odd to throw this in here. The clubs offer the tournaments, the parents and by proxy coaches make the decisions as to let the players play or not play. Certainly money is a factor since this is how they support the business. Why is that wrong? Less money equals less quality coaches, fields and less training time which equals lower standard of play. Sorry this just hit me as a really strange comment even for this board.

The same fields are used for all the tourneys and this year all tourneys virtually promised the same playing time (albeit the Scorpions decided to shorten it at last minute). If GPS is strapped for fields b/c of them being unplayable, you can bet they will run games til 10 pm on all playable fields that have lights.

Are you guys morons or just trolling? No it's not all cancelled. As of now only 6 v 6 is 100% cancelled. Most of 8 v 8 will also be cancelled except for top brackets. Moving some fields. They have to take down the entire schedule to change any of them. It will be reposted when changes are made it. Please go to the GPS March Madness thread if you want updates, instead of spreading misinformation.

                                And how valuable are tournaments?

Why does DAP focus more on the practice:game ratio than on how many games or tournaments they can get their platers into?

Kids like to play games and many parents like to watch their kids play games, but after years of coaching in tournaments, I remain mixed as to their value in the development of a soccer player.
