Immigrants once again funded by hard working Americans. Our kids are getting screwed over by their own country. Gotta love the oppportunities we provide to non tax paying families.

Blame immigrants for how your politicians are screwing you. That fascist speech sounds familiar.

          Here we go again...

Your individual tax pennies, because that's all it is, would only fund athletic scholarships for the few foreign athletes playing at your state schools. All other schools are private and you're not paying for it. While athletes are in the country they contribute to our economy eating out, getting apartments (some), shopping - and paying sales taxes.

but they are brown people. They must be kept down. They cannot be allowed to have the same things everyone else has. Besides I bet the average person doesn't contribute more than a penny to athletic scholarships, but will scream about their money being misused.

Funny since many (not all) of them are from Western Europe and Canada.

Yep and the colleges say they need diversity incentives and scholarships not realising the hard working Mexican American or immigrants work just as hard as anyone else in school to get into college.

It would be informative to know the numbers of foreign athletes (soccer, tennis, all combined) on college scholarships at state schools in Florida and across the nation. Then foreign students can get scholarships for academics too.

Why? Trump hasn't done anything in four years to make sure colleges only give scholarships to U. S. citizens.

Can foreign students get academic scholarships at state colleges?

I hope the women coaches go a different path than the men because clearly it’s not working on the men’s side.
College soccer is not related to getting better for international roles later. Those players are pro already by the time they are 16-18. College players are looking for path to education 1st, the international players also there for education, and to find an American spouse.

And a pathway to NWSL and their countries Olympic and World Cup games. Quite a few of the women players on other countries' teams played college in the U.S. and in the NWSL in the U.S.

Nobody has a career goal to to NWSL. They can make more $ working part time as bartender.

That will slow down with the new emphasis on women's soccer. Not that foreign players won't continue to come here but the quality will be less. I saw an interview with one of the players in the World Cup who credited her being able to play college in the US as helping her develop. But she went on to add that she didn't have the opportunity to train in the club models that girls today have and she would have loved to have done that. It just wasn't around then.
