    CU Overall Record

5 games played 1 win! (Score of 1-0)

    4 losses

    17 goals against

    8 goals for

3 CU teams had 4 to 6 goals piled on them

All for the love of travel!! in the end of season US Club Jamboree.

This is not USYS or US Soccer DA, it's the 3rd string US Club deal for girls.

It’s not elite, it’s just outside of Oregon.

All three leagues teams from Oregon lose outside of Oregon. All are probably very similar

This is fun! Let's do Thorns now:

U16/17's - did not qualify for DA playoffs. Traveled for 5 days to play 3 games in the season-ending consolation "showcase."
        Game 1: 0-0
        Game 2: 2-2
        Game 3: 2-4

What did we learn? The u16/17 Thorns are average in the consolation level of GDA.

U15's - did not qualify for DA playoffs. Traveled for 5 days to play 3 games in the season-ending consolation "showcase."
        Game 1: 1-2
        Game 2: 1-1
        Game 3: 1-1

What did we learn? The u15 Thorns are average in the consolation level of GDA.

U14's - did not qualify for DA playoffs. Traveled for 5 days to play 3 games in the season-ending consolation "showcase."
        Game 1: 7-0
Game 2 and 3: still to be played

Early indications are that maybe this u14 team could have done well in the actual championship playoffs. However, this remains to be seen. The team they hung 7 goals on hasn't scored a goal since mid-April and has some huge losses throughout their season. Stay tuned!

Bottom line - as has been said ad nauseum on this site - Oregon teams typically and historically don't do well out of state. You can dress them up with a DA or ECNL patch, but they are who they are.

Nice research. You forgot one notable detail. There is NO U14 DA playoffs for which to qualify. Playoffs in the DA are U15+ Only, no U14. U14 end of season jamboree is showcase only.

The only people that benefit from the poo pipe structure are the coaching directors. And you fools just keep paying.

Yep, my bad. I'll leave the overarching question of the value of having kids who just finished 7th and 8th grade travel to a "showcase jamboree" for 5 days to others. Regardless, their game 1 result was a glimmer of hope for Thorns DA.

That's because they're all trying to get the occasional kernels of corn to join THEIR pile of poo, so the resulting sh1t sandwich is a bit more nutritious.

You forgot to mention all top US Club dogs left for DA 2 years ago.

Leaving clubs like FC and CU to battle it out with b and c teams that didn't elevate to the DA.

The bottom of the DA is still better than anything in US Club s show.

                        1. ECNL
                        2. Travel club teams
                        3. Girls DA

The girls DA lost a lot of their top clubs to ECNL recently. Apparently the high school soccer lure is too strong.

If the gda allowed high school play and had better sub rules, they would’ve drawn more talent and might even have qualified for playoffs. Best of luck to all the Oregon girls playing out of state, whether it’s DA showcase, ecnl playoffs or surf or xf challenge later this summer. Go all Oregon players!

For the 99.99%, the high school soccer experience will be the most meaningful and treasured experience of their high school years. For those that play in a state title game in Oregon, or a semi-final, it may be the only time they play in front of thousands of fans.
