          How come every field she's seen practicing on in the article is marked for American football?

          (And why is she at Wilsonville HS? Thorns don't practice down there, at least I don't think they do...)

            Seriously this is the USA and HS Stadium fields are marked for American Football as an afterthought is making feint lines for Soccer.

              She definitely has a head start, but there are players her age/grade that are better. By the time she is 18 there will be even more players who are better.

              It is a great marketing story for Nike and it plays into her parent's ego. It will just be a difficult standard for this kid to meet.

              Her parents did not need the money, but they took out the option for her to play college soccer. Maybe they don't need the college soccer money, but what about the experience?
