Do the dozen or so "outside competition" games mean that strong teams will now be competing regardless of league? Can good ECNL and good GDA teams now compete?

It says that is for boys, not girls. Girls will have to wait their turn as usual.

Wow, they avoided using the term "tier", but in essence they have created tiers.

And "open weekends", so they seem to be encouraging local friendlies?

            This will be interesting.

              Good. It's necessary.

Will be interesting to see how MLS team academies manage rosters as it was play up 2-3 years to get competition for their best players. Maybe now you'll still have the same play-up mentality but they will functionally create A/B teams at older ages to play MLS/non-MLS teams.

Sounds like BS and OW will be playinh each other a lot more often. Also, playing Seacoast and Empire a lot.

It's a shame people like you rule the youth soccer landscape. So ignorant.

You do know an Oakwood team is on the verge of winning their group in San Diego right?

It means no more MLS games for lower level academies, and they can play more local tournaments and schedule friendlies, in lieu of playing MLS and stronger DA programs.

Great, but it sounds like they just got relegated .... about a week after they sent in rosters and collected their first payments. I wonder how much farther non-MLS DA clubs will get relegated at this time next year and the year after. 2nd class in their own league.

Why don't you explain what this new rule means for OW?
