Originally posted by Unregistered View PostSwitching some sports to spring, and others from spring to fall is not my idea, but is in the latest CIAC report. I'm not saying they will do it, but are considering moving up sports like baseball, and moving football to spring. I'm not sure where soccer stands. If soccer were to move to spring, then there would be no spring club soccer, just fall and winter.

Not the best idea either.

If high school soccer gets cancelled it will be due to the fact the state won't allow youth sports. Zero chance youth sports go on and school sports don't. Yes, that means jokewood will be cancelled too.

How is there going to be high schools sports in the fall with no vaccine? No way will high schools be able to afford to test these kids and the districts will use this as an easy way to save a lot of money. Good by fall season and most likely winter

11,488 test conducted & 58 positive
$1,148,800 spent in testing yesterday
58 positive test that probably represent 30 new cases of which 15-20 have no symptoms.
That is $19,806 spent per positive test.
There is no way we can continue to spend like this for testing. Just not sustainable.

Don't be so certain.
Can't speak as well to the boys' side of things, but girls' high school soccer has a huge social element to it that remains one of the best perceived benefits these players crave.
You'll really test the pull of the ECNL if high school girls soccer moves into the spring. Some girls will hang in for the club play, but far more than any realize now will simply opt to play high school soccer.
And there is virtually no chance that the CIAC will allow out of school same sport in season. A fundamental issue at the CIAC core.
