the baseball team plays on the baseball field, the football team plays on the football field, the tennis team plays on the tennis courts, the soccer teams play on the soccer fields, see how this goes?

Don’t most soccer teams share a field with lax? Harvard and Yale do. Penn football lax and track share a field. Cornell soccer and track. Columbia football and lax. They will just cancel the fall all together. Most schools won’t have all their students on campus

The field problem can easily be fixed by renting one somewhere nearby. But that doesn't mean they will have sports or move any around. So far three Ivies have said only about half the students will be on campus, so giving athletes special treatment won't sit well with those not on campus

Exactly. No chance Ivy League has sports this year.

That’s the one sport that will not happen. Unless it is in empty stadiums. The other fall sports will move to the spring.

Some of these colleges have little else but football and need the TV dough. They'd happily run games to empty stadiums if need be.

The Ivy League loses money in every sport. There is no tv deal etc. They won’t be playing in fall. Football will get in their 7 game league schedule in spring but that might not even happen as Ivy League students will all go crazy if football players in their grades are allowed back on campus while the rest of their grade are not allowed back. It will be interesting what the Ivy League does. I would think just canceling all sports for the entire year is the way they will go. Patriot League will follow suit as they think of themselves as the little Ivy League with scholarships.

Do they really? You don't think that they have very wealthy, older benefactors that played tennis, football, baseball, soccer ..... that kick back millions or tens of millions because of those memories? There is a reason that they have endowments that register in the terms of billions of dollars.

Correct. Ivy League schools could care less about sports. It’s research and the old rich dudes giving back money is all they care about.

I’ve never been the grammar police on TS, but over the past week I’ve seen “could care less” used one too many times. Please use it correctly, it makes you sound like a simpleton otherwise.

You're wrong. When a large segment of your population is involved in athletics, it stands to reason that this is another way they can make money down the road .... athletics boosters at Ivies are HUGE donors.
