Getting cute doesn't ANSWER the question now does it? They are a unprofessional youth organization run by Tom Atencio and Fraser Morrison making thousands from bilked parents and yet they are missing this obvious with their youth programs.

Yes the other local clubs have their issues however they are underfunded non profits by comparison.

      US Soccer Federation disagrees

Because the US Federation is a forward looking organization that knows the growth of the game and spectators (advertising base) requires growing a female audience they have pledged to subsidize the NWSL for as long as it takes for the league to stand on its own and expand to more markets.

The like the MLS the NWSL is not a pure market based system.

        Not Rocket Science....just basic Marketing

When you look in the stands at a Thorns game there are more women and girls than adult men. Compare that profile to the Timbers games and it's easy to see who the men's team target market is.

So if you want to put more people in the seats for Thorns games and drive up prices and sell more gear do you promote the Men's team with girls or should you be building your women's team brand?

I think the average attendance in NWSL is less than 5,000 per game and the Thorns are a huge outlier

If you want to build a brand you've gotta play better than they did last night. Completely smoked!

Are you kidding? The Oakland Raiders have a good brand and they've been getting smoked for the past 15 years. One of the worst teams in football year in year out.

NWSL doesn't have 15 years. One more year, if they're lucky. National soccer associations are already seriously cutting back their support and many top national team players are making moves to Europe to play.

Then why are you worried about the brand and how they play if it's a foregone conclusion that they are done?

You'll be angry too when you eventually realize that the Timbers have completely ruined youth soccer for your DD and her friends.
