I can tell you that at CFC, the coaches were brutally honest with the kids and parents on those large roster teams. People know exactly what they are getting into.

I don't have a kid in the mix but I hope it works out for them. Hard to believe that the league carries that much weight when a player doesn't actually get in games. Mine is NPL level player, plays most of the game, is a solid contributor and will look for schools at the appropriate level.

The lots and lots were in reference to the college level which is much more painful.

All 3 of those schools made the NCAA tourney with MIT falling in the Sweet 16 to soccer powerhouse Messiah and Hopkins falling in the Elite 8 round to Williams. All four of those schools (Chicago, Williams, MIT, Hopkins) are able to draw players from a national/international pool due to their academic reputations. They have players from CA, Hawaii, Florida, etc on their rosters. Nearly all have ECNL or high NPL club experience.

Only Williams was without a CT player on the roster.

The other 3 had a total of 5 on the roster. 1 from Greenwich, and 2 each from New Canaan and Ridgefield. 4 played for CFC and 1 for NYSC. .
And of all those top notch EXPENSIVE smaller liberal Arts schools , still nothing comes close to the success as little unknown to most Messiah College.

Messiah College has the most D3 soccer titles for both Men & Women of any school, they must be doing something right, along with Gods help.

In that case who cares. when you are talking about these liberal arts schools there's no money anyway. They take a roster of 30. 15 actually play but the others are part of the program. Its like greek life with less drinking and nice swag to wear around.

It's also the reason fairfield county kids go to these schools... deeper pockets

The D3 soccer players probably don’t care, many were already prepared for little or no PT by Senior yr in HS.
The pain is on the cloudy Kool Aid parents at the D1 level, many stuck in a Ponzi Scheme with kids getting no PT while writing checks with lots of zeros.

                LOL.

                Lots.

                  Lots.

The D3 players at the top 50 or so D3 schools (especially the ones listed here in this thread) probably played a lot their senior year on very good club teams. They did not end up in these top programs/schools by accident.

Have you watched Fairfield, Iona, Wagner play? You can not be serious...They would be mid table NSCAC. Kids on those rosters are nothing special.

and the D3 rosters have the best players in the country. Thank you D3 dad. Fairfield will have more depth and overall better athletes. You're an idiot slob.

Let's cancel Christmas so we can all watch a D3 girls soccer game

On each of the ECNL teams you might be lucky to find 1 or 2 kids with the academic chops to get into Williams college. In many instances it's more difficult than some of the Ivies like Brown or Columbia. For many families, they have the ability to "write the check" for a top school and soccer is a just a means to get admitted to the school.

In the end, everyone has different priorities. There are definitely some schools that would be a good middle ground but I'd like my job prospects coming out of D3 Williams over D1 Marist any day!
