Overheard two coaches at the US/England friendly. "in terms of showcases, based on the talent here, this already surpasses ECNL. The holdouts are the exception"

The exceptions will be using their talents to play for other colleges then. Some smart coach will be fortunate to get some very talented exceptions.

Apparently they weren't at the 14-1 game before the friendly.

Looking at the event so far, I think the Northeast group may also be the exception. Northeast players may want to consider other leagues.

It is a club by club decision which is better their ECNL or SA teams. Hawks obviously put their 17's in DA but kept the 16's in ECNL.

College coaches will be at both the DA and ECNL events. Double work but both in Florida so a little extra sun time.

Be happy your kids are playing on good teams. Both leagues will be fine going forward.

What does this statement mean? Not clear at all. Stay away from Northeast DA? better off in NPL/ECNL? Why?

Northeast group does not seem to be "surpassing" much so far. Its players will be pegged as being from a weak group.

Our coach plays all his players at least half a game and if the coach is attending the entire game regardless of the results.
This is a bad take. Its not about developing for the NT, its about developing. IF you happen to be talented enough for the NT, great. If it was about the NT, then 95 pct of the players should quit now.

If that is actually the case, wouldn't the players be better off dropping down below the ECNL to a regionally focused NPL. Why bother with any of the national travel?

Totally imo but youth soccer is out of control.

Yes, it sure is. The greed surpasses the desire to see the sport thrive. The ECNL/DA split further diluted the talent across the two leagues. It is unfortunate for the kids. They are getting a diminished product. That said, there are some good teams at this showcase but somewhat hit or miss.

Why are all the GK’s heavy set? Or is that the tv?
