NEWSS showcase in Long Island.

BS and YU girls actually had pretty good results. BS girls had a very good showing this weekend with 2001s and 2000s both finalists in their brackets. YU 01s in tough bracket with respectable performance. YU 00 girls had a tough weekend. CFC 2000 girls were finalists. CFC 2001s finished second in their pool...no losses but did not make it out of the pool.

Overall, a nice showing for some of the CT clubs. No championships at the 2001 or 2000 ages but decent showings all around.

BS 2000 girls actually tied finals game in regulation and then lost on PKs. Should be mentioned if you are trying to give accurate reflection of games.

Seeing that it was a showcase, I'm not sure the results are overly important. How was attendance from college coaches on the sidelines?

Results not overly important, but they are always important. Just ask the kids. No kid/coach wants to lose.

Coaches not as visible as anyone would have liked I am sure. Same weekend as Disney showcase. I am sure many hopped on a flight to get nice and suntanned in the FL sunshine.

Nice tune-up tourney though to see roughly how each team might look come spring. Things could always change though on any team.

Having attended the Disney event with one daughter and the ECNL event with another they are night and day. ECNL Sanford was 45 minutes from Orlando and loaded with coaches. Upwards of 60 coaches at u16 games. Disney on the other hand was really disappointing.

NEWSS is a tough draw. Coaches from metro NYC are out there but not much else.

This whole thing gets more complicated with the DA having their own events. Those will be a pretty big draw which means events outside the DA and ECNL are going to really struggle.

'Nice' showing for YU '01s. There were in the top bracket and beat two Northeast NPL teams ranked in the top 100 nationally and tied Albertson ECNL who is #39 in the country. YU missed going to the final because Albertson scored one more goal then them against a common opponent. YU technically tied for first in the bracket with Albertson getting the nod on goals for. They both had the same point total. That's a little better than a "nice showing", Yankee haters. Look at their showcase results over the last two years and you'll see that they consistently perform well against strong competition. Give credit where credit's due. YU'S 2000's had a rough weekend? Look at the high level teams they played. Give them credit for taking the challenge. You can spin things any way you want. Rather than saying CFC NPL had no losses, you could say they had only one win in three games.... Spin it as you will based on your agenda.

To the op who said ecnl tourney had a ton of coaches- it does but then those same coaches went to disney ( diff this year with the date change)- its all good

Recruiting season is hard its a no BS assesment of your worth to a college soccer world
Some fare well some get strung along and some get no love- its a roller coaster of emotions but in the end it works out for most
