Well for starters its being held on the same weekend as the Boys and Girls HS State Championships. So that rules out any player from Class S thru Class LL that plays on a team that makes it to championship Saturday. Not to mention that most reputable club teams don't start their season until their entire team is eligible to re-join the team.
Might not be bad for seniors looking at local D3s but that's about it.

Tough Dates!
That's not true. Our large club with many nice fields and inadequate parking starts right up November 1. Those players still in states just have to quietly juggle club practices around their remaining high school games. No biggie.

That's great. Conference play and CIAC tournament is still going at November 1st. Talk about putting the kids in the tough spot. Perhaps if your princess wasn't in 6th grade you'd know that no HS age player in CT juggles any club practices during the season. Its a quick way to end the season for your HS team and ruin the work of 20 of your childhood friends.
As far as FSA is concerned, there's no need to start training in November. Its take one week to position 5 defenders and get them to start whipping it in to the fast kids.
Oh, it's not as bad as you think. Most of our FCIAC kids are available by the first. The rest are scattered arond 2-3 conferences and trickle in. Entire team is pretty much together by the semifinals. Kids popping in here or there around their remaining high school games is done quietly, don't ask don't tell, and nobody minds. All good. You live in a bubble if you don't see that where you are (or, maybe you're at OW and there's no varsity-quality players to worry about).
Any info on this event from people who have attended in the past?
Do any college coaches actually attend?
Thanks
It's a small local no-frills affair. They used to list the coaches who were attending, maybe they still do, haven't done it since they moved. Mostly local colleges, nothing too crazy.
